"FOUR
GREAT VISIONS"
I.
THE VISION OF A WORLD WITHOUT WAR.
The
prophet spoke of a day when people would "beat their
swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks."
From that day, this vision has remained the dream of all
mankind. With the coming of the Prince of Peace, who
by His life and teaching, His death and resurrection, has
taught us the "secret" of overcoming evil; we
have learned the way in which we can "conquer"
hate and war.
II.
THE VISION OF A UNITED CHURCH.
Our
minds go back to the "great prayer" of our Lord
on the eve of His mission. Three times in John 17
we find the words "that they may be one."
III.
THE VISION OF THE ONE FLOCK AND ONE SHEPHERD.
We
need a "new vision" that will make us realize
that we "have to be missionaries of the Gospel in every
situation."
IV.
THE VISION THAT COMES TO US IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION.
This
vision is of a vast number of people, from all nations,
tribes and tongues, "PRAISING GOD". In this
picture, all nations of the world bring their peculiar gifts
of "praise and devotion" to the throne of God
and to the Lamb.
